July 2015
The iroCK Lodge was built as a base camp to help reduce the cost on the travel expenses for our volunteers.
Each team member pays their own way in addition to raising additional project funds. The iroCK Lodge had its first clients in July 2015. A total of eleven volunteers came from Florida, Texas, Maryland, Washington DC and Budapest, Hungary. The Lodge is designed to provide a unique African lodging experience for the volunteers at a significantly lower price than staying in the tourist town of Victoria Falls. The iroCK Lodge is centrally located allowing the volunteer teams to travel to the different job sites in the bush to work each day.
The Lodge still needs a few minor details to make it complete. We are seeking donors to help fund the balance needed to complete Phase one of the lodge. These donations are separate from our school and medical building donations. We need approximately $45,000 for the 8 rooms that are erected to finish them off completely. These eight beautiful rooms will easily accomodate up to 4 people per room. Each room has it’s own private bathroom and shower. Included at the Lodge is a central kitchen area and a dining room that can hold up to 21 people.
Directly outside each room is plenty of open space. You can enjoy the fresh air and scenery, sit back relax and take it all in or walk the trails along the property. In the evening bring the chairs outside and stare at stars like you’ve never seen before. Absolutely crystal clear nights that bring the entire galaxy and Milky Way right into the palm of your hand. The iroCK Lodge is safe, secure, comfortable, and relaxing with lots of privacy. We have 24 hour security on site.
Please consider bringing a Team to Zimbabwe. Stay with us at this beautiful lodge that sits on the bluff overlooking the Zimbabwe wild and enjoy the experience while serving others.
